Dugena is a German watch brand founded in 1927 under the name Deutsche Uhrmacher-Genossenschaft (German Watchmakers' Cooperative). Its aim was to bring together German watchmakers to promote the production of quality watches, while making watchmaking accessible to a wider public. Dugena quickly made a name for itself in Germany as a reliable and precise brand.

From its earliest years, Dugena has distinguished itself by the quality of its mechanical watches and the use of German- and Swiss-made movements. The brand was quick to integrate high-precision calibers, enabling it to establish itself among the major players in German watchmaking. The 1970s marked a major transformation in watchmaking with the rise of quartz watches. Like many watch brands, Dugena reacted to the arrival of quartz by developing models with electronic movements. This transition has enabled the brand to maintain its position in the market by offering watches that are modern, precise and affordable.

During this period, Dugena continued to focus on affordability, ensuring that its watches remained affordable while incorporating cutting-edge technologies. The brand was able to establish itself on international markets by offering quality watches at competitive prices, partnering with LIP on a number of models, such as those by Roger Tallon and Rudi Meyer.
