In 1972, a similar model received a special award for the most beautiful watch with a gemstone dial at the “Rose d’Or” International Competition in Baden-Baden, the ultimate symbol of the aesthetic revolution of the 1970s. While the watchmaking world traditionally measured its success down to the second through chronometric accuracy competitions, this unique German event took a different approach, judging timepieces on an entirely different basis: that of pure art, boldness, and design.
