Herman Miller is one of the world's leading furniture companies.

In 1923, the Michigan Star Furniture Company became the company known today as Herman Miller. When D.J. De Pree and his father-in-law bought the company, Mr. De Pree renamed it Miller.

By the middle of the 20th century, the Herman Miller name had become synonymous with "modern" furniture. In 1930, Mr. De Pree began by hiring designer Gilbert Rohde, who designed the brand's first showroom in Chicago, marking the beginning of a period of modern, problem-solving design.

Ten and a half years later, he hired George Nelson, who would change the course of history for the entire company. Supported by De Pree in his design ambitions, Nelson called on contemporaries such as Charles and Ray Eames, Alexander Girard and Isamu Noguchi to produce pieces that would become classics of modern design.

Presented here is a very rare Herman Miller catalog dated 1964. This is a 200-page binder covering the entire collection distributed by Herman Miller at the time. The booklet is punctuated with photographs and technical data sheets, a true working document of the period, which apparently belonged to the Interform sales team in Paris, the brand's representative in France.

The paper is of good quality and the copy, with its laminated cover, is in generally good condition for its age.

A real find for design enthusiasts. Translated into French, Italian, German and English. Collector.
