GRAND PRIX SAINT-ELOI OMEGA WATCHES CATALOGUE 1953

Introducing a superb Omega catalog featuring unique pieces from the 1953 Grand Prix Saint-Eloi.

Founded in 1951 under the auspices of the Ministry of Fine Arts, the Grand Prix Saint Eloi is intended to inspire new lines and shapes of women's watches.

Choosing from hundreds of designs, its jury selects ideas whose originality, taste, and harmony are beyond dispute. The jury includes the great fashion designer Pierre Balmain. The creators of these projects are celebrated and rewarded according to their talent. Finally, OMEGA creates and publishes these works.

This revival of the precious metal industry is part of the revival of artistic crafts. We have commissioned this booklet to bear witness to this for lovers of beauty.

Models from the Maisons Pierre Balmain, Jean Dessès, Christian Dior, Jacques Fath, Hubert de Givenchy, Jacques Griffe, Jacques Heim, Lanvin (Castillo), Manguin, Jean Patou, Madeleine de Rauch, Schiaparelli, presented these watches.

The Dior model, in a grand lamé evening gown covered with a coronation mantle, presented to guests and the press the watch that holds the Grand Prix Saint Éloi, which will be presented to HM Queen Elizabeth II of England.

This numbered copy is in near mint condition despite its 70 years.
