TISSOT "RENÉ VOGT" CATALOG, CA. 1942
450,00 €
“Watches as they should be”—that was the slogan at the time.
Here we present a very rare copy of a Tissot brochure from October 1942, accompanied by these price lists from May 1943, listed in Swiss francs.
This issue showcases the men’s and women’s collections of the time, with a special focus on the context of the World War. Here is what Tissot highlighted at the time:
The Tissot factory in Le Locle, which has kept pace with progress since 1853, recognized early on the dangers that the development of electricity posed to timepieces. From the very beginning, it placed the fight against magnetization—that is, against disturbances in the operation of timepieces—on a scientific footing.
Today, the Tissot factory has a state-of-the-art specialized laboratory equipped with testing and inspection equipment designed at the initiative of the factory’s technicians.
Tissot water-resistant watches feature a hermetically sealed case with no rivets or hinges. They are water- and dust-resistant, made of stainless steel, feature shatterproof glass, and are shock-resistant.
Tissot is the ideal watch for sports and military service.
This copy was distributed by the René Vogt watch shop in Uster, located not far from Zurich in German-speaking Switzerland. It was printed at the time by Haefeli & Co. in Switzerland, a highly reputable printing company that also produced materials for Rolex. The brochure is in good condition, with just some rust on the fasteners and a cover that is coming loose—nothing serious for an 84-year-old item.
A true collector's item for brand lovers.
