VACHERON AND CONSTANTIN POSTCARD, QUAI DE L’ILE, GENEVA, CA. 1900
180,00 €
Rooted in the historic cradle of Geneva’s fine watchmaking tradition, Vacheron Constantin has maintained a deep and centuries-old connection with the Île and Saint-Gervais neighborhoods, where its founder, Jean-Marc Vacheron, first established himself in 1755.
From its establishment at the Tour de l’Île in 1843 to the construction of its iconic factory at 7 Quai de l’Île in 1875, this island neighborhood—once the beating heart of watchmaking and commerce, with its market halls and covered market—remains the symbolic timekeeper of Vacheron Constantin’s identity.
In 1906, Vacheron Constantin opened its first boutique there, in the heart of the Île market. Here is a beautiful little postcard from the early 20th century in a color faux-engraving of this iconic building, which served as the brand’s flagship at the time.
